HP Slate 500 was designed for the enterprise and business market. The focus of this
tablet is a more powerful, but with the capability and portability of a tablet. The HP Slate 500 is the
ideal PC for professionals who don’t usually work at a traditional desk, yet need to stay productive in a
secure, familiar Windows environment. The HP Slate 500 is also intended for those who use custom
applications built for Windows.
The build quality looks very nice. This feels solid in the hand. The
portfolio case is nice and a fine, if not perfect, fit. It is powered by a 1.86GHz Intel Atom Z540
processor, 2GB of RAM and it comes with a 64GB SSD (Solid State Hard Drive). The 8.9-inch capacitive
display has a 1024 x 600 resolution and is very responsive. The HP Slate 500 runs Windows 7 Professional
and it comes with a N-Trig active digitizer for taking notes. The N-Trig stylus is great for writing in
WordPad or for sketching and drawing. The HP Slate also fetaures dual cameras, a front-facing VGA camera
and a 3 mega-pixel rear-facing camera.
This is a real Windows 7 computer not an Ipad or
an Android. Don't need apps since every Windows program will run. Works with home and office
wireless networks and Verizon mobile broadband. The HP Slate 500 is a miniature version of a PC and
it is extremely welcome for people who are the go and require productivity applications. It can perform
any thing a desktop or laptop PC can perform within the limitations of Intel Atom
processor.
